You Are The Change That We Seek: Run for Local Office in 2021

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." -- Barack Obama, 2008 Super Tuesday

You like living here. But you are concerned about whether our community is ready for the challenges ahead. You have talent or experience that you want to share with our community. You have great organizing skills that you want to share, and you see a greater need. You are active in volunteer organizations at your kids' school, and want to help more people. You are a leader in professional organizations, and you want to use your experience to help our community. You volunteer for local community groups, and you see ways to make our community a better place to live. You run a local business and you have insight into how to improve our community.

YOU SHOULD RUN FOR LOCAL OFFICE! It is not too early to start planning to run for local office in April 2021. Spring and summer is an excellent time to start learning how to run for office.

In 2021, only the Palatine Township Board races are partisan, meaning that candidates can declare their political party. The other local races are all non-partisan. GPAD is happy to help all candidates learn how to run for public office.
